Glurbs is a game for language learners that blends together a fun, animated and interactive game with foreign language lessons. The language learning and game play take place simultaneously and each is dependent on the other.

Each planet is based around a specific unit or language topic; for example the circus planet is based on basic vocabulary. These “units” are spread over 6-8 lessons which are each represented by a checkpoint on the planet.

When a player clicks on the checkpoint, the lesson will appear on the screen. After the player has finished the lesson, they will then have to complete a fun learning challenge based on the content they have just learnt. The challenges are a mixture of reading, listening and spelling questions. In order to ensure that the player has understood the content from the lesson, there is a pass mark of 60 points. If the player passes the challenge, a new mini-game will be added to their planet which they can play.

They will unlock the next checkpoint and lesson of the planet and the process will be repeated until the player has completed all of the lessons provided in the planet.

You can learn languages for free using Glurbs! There is no cost to create an account or to complete lessons. We have a premium account which is available for Glurbs users if they would like to remove adverts, add more gems and unlock further learning resources.

The only data that will be public is the username you choose when you sign up to an account. Other players will be able to see this information on the leader boards for the reward games. The rest of the information (password, email/phone number) will remain private. For more information on this, please visit our Privacy Policy.

Using Glurbs

Gems are a virtual currency in Glurbs which can be used in game. Players will receive gems based on their score in the challenges. They can then be spent in the store to unlock outfits and other features for your Glurbs character.

There is a karaoke on each planet in Glurbs. The karaoke contains songs with videos that are based on the topics you learn in the lessons on each planet. Warm up your vocal cords and sing-a-long!

There is a school on each planet in Glurbs. The school contains all the lessons you have learnt on that particular planet in case you want to revisit any of them!

Leader boards are a fun way to add competitiveness to each reward game. At the end of the game the player will have their score posted onto the leader board. They will then be able to see where they rank in the game and decide if they want to try again to improve their score.

The most common reason why the leader board would be empty after a game is that the device does not have access to an internet connection so the app has entered offline mode. If the problem continues once the device has been connected to the internet please contact support@glurbs.com and we will do everything we can to help to resolve the problem.

Unfortunately, you are unable to change the language course after you have created your account. If you want to learn a new language after you have started playing Glurbs on an account, simply create a new account and select the language course that you would like to study!

Accounts

Yes, you are able to create multiple accounts using the same email. You can do this if you want to change your language, set up an account for a family member or just want to start again.

You can change any of the information linked to your account by visiting the “My Account” page in the settings button in Glurbs. Click on the field that you would like to change and type in the new information.

If someone has used your email address to create a Glurbs account, you will have full control over the account if you are able to prove that you are the email holder. If you are able to do this, contact support@glurbs.com with the problem as well as the proof and we will deactivate the account that is linked to the email address.

This depends on the sign-up method that you used to create your account:
  • If you signed up using a username and a password, simply enter in the details to the correct field and you will have access to your account on the new device.
  • If you are using an android device and used your Google account to create an account, you can sign into a new device using your Google account details.
  • If you are using an Apple device and used your Apple ID to create an account, you can sign into a new device using your Apple ID details.

When signing up to your account using a username or password, you are encouraged to add an email address or phone number. When you have done this, we will be able to contact you via one of these in order to resolve the problem.
However, we advise you to always keep a record of your login details safe in order to prevent this situation.

You can delete your account by going to the “TERMS” section of the settings button and click the “DELETE ACCOUNT” button.

Unfortunately, once the account has been confirmed as deleted, there is no way of recovering the account.

Technical Problems

In the case that the sound is not working on your app, please follow these steps:
  • Check that you have not muted the sounds in your settings button in Glurbs.
  • Close the Glurbs app and start it again.
  • If the problem continues, check if the sound is working on any other apps on your device. If they are, consider submitting a bug report or alternatively contact support@glurbs.com with your problem.

If you have purchased a premium account in the Glurbs store but you are still seeing adverts pop-up in your game, please consider submitting a bug report or alternatively contact support@glurbs.com with your problem.

Reporting Issues

If you notice any problems with your Glurbs app we would be grateful if you got in touch to tell us about them. It is important to note that bug reports won’t always receive a personalised reply but they are all dealt with by our developers so you can be assured that the bug is being dealt with. You can report a bug by clicking here. We would appreciate it if you could provide us with as much detail as possible when filling out the form as well as including a screenshot of the issue.

The ads on Glurbs come from industry-standard ad networks. They’re not selected by Glurbs but by the network. However, we have added filters to prevent any ad content that users would consider unacceptable. This is a very important matter to us so if you see anything unsuitable, please contact support@glurbs.com with a screenshot of the advert so that we can rectify the problem.

If you have lost gems, customisable features or progress from your account, please consider submitting a bug report or contact support@glurbs.com and we will do everything we can to resolve the problem.

As with most products, all of our virtual items that have been purchased are non-refundable. To request a refund, you’ll need to contact Apple or Google (depending on the platform you are using).
You must bear in mind that successful refund requests could lead to the loss of progress, gems and items.
Since some players abuse this, we have been forced to limit each account to 2 reimbursements. Any more than this will lead to the account being reset by the system.
WARNING: After your account is reset once, 1 refund will be enough for another reset.
You are responsible for the security of your account and ensuring that no unauthorized purchases occur on your account. Glurbs is not liable for any unauthorized purchases.
